Types of Divorce in Montenegro

Contested Divorce

Child Custody
Courts always prioritize the child's best interest. Physical custody (where the child lives) and parental rights (joint decision-making) are separate issues.
Alimony
Alimony amount depends on the child's needs and the paying parent's income. Courts typically award 15-30% of net income per child.
Property Division
Joint property acquired during marriage is split equally, unless otherwise agreed in a prenuptial agreement.
